A panel on “Drug abuse medical Treatment and Awareness ” was held

In the continuation of the activities of the Department of Nursing, a scientific panel on medical treatment and health awareness about drug abuse was held under the supervision of the Dean

The panel focused on the types of drugs and their effects on the human body and mental health from the beginning to the end of addiction by Dr. Zanyar Agal, an internal medicine specialist and Dr. Zamdar Karim, a psychiatrist.

Mr. Zhuan Ali, the representative of the Kurdistan Regional Security Agency for Awareness Affairs, also highlighted the legal and security measures taken against drug users and traffickers, as well as the role of prisons and correctional facilities in the treatment of drug users.

In another part of the panel, each of the participants highlighted their role in treating drug users and examples of how they have benefited from medical treatment in their cleansing from drugs.

In the final message of the panel, everyone agreed that drug users should be treated as patients and should not be treated as criminals،  In case of drug addiction, referral to medical treatment to cleanse the users of the substance and get rid of it by visiting Internal medicine specialists and psychiatric specialists.
