Nursing Department

The nursing department was established in 2018. Classes are taught over a period of two years and divided into four semesters, two semesters each year. When they graduate, students receive a technical diploma in nursing. Students have been taught, both in class and in laboratories with one of the best-equipped labs available in the region, by experienced lecturers who have accumulated their experience through many years of teaching. For a better education experience and relationship with the teachers, students have access to the lecturers during their working hours and after that, if they need consultation on any matter

In addition, the practical classes are being taught in public and private hospitals, and for this matter, the department has made arrangements with concerned parties and relative authorities. Other external voluntary activities of this department include arranging medical-related events in the city, districts, and sub-districts. Also, preparing seminars and symposiums on medical-related subjects is another activity of this department. All of these external activities and concentration on the means of education are purposely done to enhance the quality of the education that the students receive and introduce them to the medical instructions

The nursing department has adopted the Bologna process, and this has an effective role for the students. This system makes the students continually search and enhance their thinking process on a daily basis in order to accomplish what is asked of them by the lecturers. Also, students are being exposed to a modern education standard, which can benefit graduates in case they decide to continue their education abroad

The Technical Diploma in Nursing is offered on a full-time basis. The full-time program is offered only at the KTI Main Campus in Sulaimani Heights. The duration of study for the full-time program is subject to the student’s entry qualifications and lasts between two (2) years and a maximum of four (4) years.
